About Amy Button

I work with people to teach anyone how to swim. These people can be any age from 4 months to 50 years old but talking with them and helping them learn new skills is amazing to see. I also want to talk/work with my coworkers to create a safe working environment for us and organize our pool space so we can work better. I want to create an environment for kids to be able to not feel scared of the water, getting them slowly into the water and doing some small exercises(like blowing bubbles,doing floats, etc). This will help them start to feel more confident and create a love of the water. I would also like to continue to develop my teaching skills. Developing these skills can come from my coworkers helping me learn new ideas of teaching a skill or come from me experimenting the ideas that i might have. I am willing to learn new ideas and ways to teach and this can help any company because then they have someone to work with. This can also help both the company and me learn new ways to do certain tasks because there is more than one way to do something .

I am there to teach kids on how to swim and become comfortable in the water, to also get confident with swimming. I also want them to have fun in the water and to enjoy swim lessons. I also have to write report cards and talk with the parents about their kids. Sometimes I also have to give some information that might not be good. The City of Edmonton is a big organization that runs a lot of the big projects and public facility’s in the city. Some examples are recreational facility’s, ETS(LRT and Buses).

I was responsible for safety and well being of the participants. If someone was injured I would help them. There would also be times where I would help participants find their way around the water park. I also learned how to give oxygen to participants from an oxygen tank if they needed it. Another responsibility that we had is if there was an emergency(lock down, spinal cord injury, drowning, etc) we were the first responders, we were the ones that would help these people until an ambulance came. West Edmonton mall property inc. is the company that runs the west Edmonton mall in Edmonton, Alberta. It is the main organization that gets the staff for the stores and helps put stores and restaurants into the mall. It is a big organization that has thousands of staff that works for them from retail to lifeguards.
