I have completed my service as Interim Dean of the College of Education and Human Development at Texas A&M University-San Antonio and am on a research sabbatical for the 2024 calendar year. I hold the faculty rank of Professor of Management in the College of Business. Previously, I served as Associate Dean of Business and as founding chair of the Management & Marketing department at A&M-SA and as Division Chair for the social sciences division (which included the school of business) at Drury University in Springfield, Missouri. My administrative duties have included service on the university-level academic leadership teams, strategic planning, enrollment management, faculty mentoring and development, and extensive experience with AACSB initial and continuing accreditation.My research interests focus on social identity, teams, and managerial cognition. My research has been published in journals such as Organizational Behavior and Human Decision Processes, the Journal of Personality and Social Psychology, the Journal of Social Psychology, and the Journal of Management Education. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses on topics including Organizational Behavior, Teams, Negotiation, Change management, Motivation, and Statistics.I have provided consulting services and executive training in the areas of team-building, strategic planning, communication, negotiation, statistics, research methodology, and salary/compensation. I was trained in the case method of teaching at the Harvard Business School and am also a trained mediator. My board service includes the League of Women Voters of Southwest Missouri and serving as both the board treasurer and board president for the Southwest Center for Independent Living in Springfield, Missouri. I am currently serving on the executive committee of the board for Goodwill Industries of San Antonio and served on the City of San Antonio's TIRZ 28 Board from 2016 - 2022.I am a Behavioral Scientist with training in social cognition, organizational behavior, research methods, and statistics. My Ph.D. is in social psychology with a minor in statistics from Indiana University in 2000, and I earned a B.S. in psychology from the Honors College (currently known as “Barrett, the Honors College”) at Arizona State University in 1994. After completing my Ph.D., I trained in organizational behavior as a post-doctoral research associate at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah.
