Assessment of Floristic Quality and Plant-pollinator Interactions at Lillian Anderson ArboretumDeveloped flower and plant-pollinator interaction survey protocols to assess habitat quality before the implementation of a habitat enhancement project. 117 flowering plants were identified 67% of which were native. Floristic quality decreased progressively as areas with a history of increasing disturbance were measured. Areas of higher floristic quality were further indicated to be less tolerant of disturbance with analysis of generalist vs. specialist plant-pollinator networks. Greater care will be taken in the implementation and maintenance of the habitat enhancement project in less tolerant areas.

For two summers I conducted data and sample collection of mosquito larvae and their subsequent treatment using biological controls in order to eliminate the threat that adult mosquitoes pose as vectors of disease. Field work also included informing the public of our environmentally safe mosquito control techniques.
