Freelance Outdoor Activity Instructor
Outdoor Activities Manager
I managed a small team of activity instructors and was responsible for recruitment, induction, and training of this team. I was responsible for all activity risk assessments and site health & safety. I managed the budget and was responsible for kit maintenance and purchasing equipment. It was also my responsibility to oversee all bookings to ensure the scedule ran seamlessly each day. In addition to the management side of the role I also lead paddle sports and taget sports activities. This role taught me invaluable lessons about management (both of a site and of people). I partucualrly enjoyed the large group bookings (schools, sports teams, corporate events), especially during multi-day events. Reflecting on my time at Wall Eden Farm the highlights mostly involve the occasions I was able to work with individuals and groups with additional needs. This reinforces that my next steps will be in the awesome area where the two areas I enjoy most overlap. Making sure outdoor activities are accissible to everyone.
