About Amy Coppock

Marine scientist with three years’ experience in marine environmental consultancy and over 15 years’ experience in marine biology, ecology and coral reef ecology research. I have a sound understanding of coral reef ecosystems and how they function. Areas of expertise include fish ecology, fish behavioural ecology, sponge ecology and benthic ecology. Furthermore, I have extensive knowledge of Indo-Pacific coral, sponge and fish species. I have significant experience in the planning and implementation of fieldwork in challenging and remote locations with limited access, including Kimbe Bay, West New Britain, Papua New Guinea. I have regularly conducted, benthic habitat surveys, fish ecology and behavioural ecology studies, water quality sampling, sediment sampling and zooplankton sampling. I am a competent scientific diver with experience in small vessel operations in coastal waters.I am proficient in data acquisition, data processing and analysis, and have developed and implemented research proposals for several successful research projects. Excellent communication and presentation skills. I interact well with all individuals, at all levels and from all backgrounds, and can work collaboratively to offer a positive contribution.
