I work in the Air Quality Program for the City of Lincoln with jurisdiction also covering the Lancaster County in Nebraska. My focus is permit writing and compliance requirements for emission sources as applicable under limit the Clean Air Act.

This position focuses on implementation of environmental compliance policies throughout the Nebraska National Guard - primarily at the facility level. Job duties include (but are not limited to): hazardous materials and waste management, universal and special wastes management, recycling programs, NPDES permit requirements, oil pollution prevention regulations, regulatory compliance reporting (e.g. Toxic Release Inventory and Right-To-Know), personnel training in environmental policy, budget execution of state and federal funding, and contracts management.

As a Natural Resource Specialist for Lake Metroparks I assist in natural resources planning and property management efforts for park district property. Tasks include: GIS and GPS responsibilities, invasive species control on park district lands, grant writing, reporting and execution, management of the Stormwater Program, monitoring of Conservation Easement properties and reporting, land agreements review and recording, and professional services contracting.

Responsibilities included Initial project research and planning, project proposal writing, use of GIS for planning projects including data collection, analysis and mapping tasks, website development, grant application process.

Responsibilities included assistance with the stormwater mapping program. Primary tasks consisted of field identification of storm water conveyance structures, the collection of pertinent site and structure data, and reporting.

Responsibilities included the identification of grassland songbirds by sight and call, mist netting and bird banding, vegetation sampling, and data reporting and entry in access database.

Responsibilities included manual invasive vegetation control with hand tools and native species restoration efforts. Other tasks consisted of native seed collection, assistance with localized prescribed burns, and assistance with select education programs.
