Profile bio

About Amy Eachus

I was told once by an instructor of graphic design that designers, by nature, are problem solvers. That is how I would like to think of myself - a designer - a person who can adapt and find solutions. I have a strong mind for research, and this skill emphasizes intuitive and practical application of concepts to my work - both professional and personal. I want to help whenever possible, and am a firm believer in the concept of "teaching a man to fish". Sharing knowledge is the best way to create a confident, strong culture, and creating systems to facilitate that sharing is something I like to do most.My path in life has been to nurture my diplomatic and scientific mind - which I am doing through lots of self-teaching and self-discovery. Many people who get the chance to know me hold me in high regard as an honest, hard-working and dedicated individual. One of my pop-culture idols is Lt Commander Data from the TV Show Star Trek: The Next Generation, we have a lot of commonalities - such as babbling on about technical things that most people are totally bored with.

Listed skills include Problem Solving, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing, Purchasing, and 33 others.

Client Services Representative

Current

Reading, Pennsylvania, United States

I serve as the first point of contact when clients, primarily in electronics manufacturing, are looking for pricing on Environmental and Mechanical testing. I also provide general information regarding tests, purchase orders, schedules and invoices. The testing services range from simple temperature exposure to complex inter-site qualifications and upscreenings. My primary goal is to quickly turn around information and quotes as I have a keen awareness that delays in qualifying or certifying parts can snowball all the way down the supply chain. Part of this task focuses on cross referencing client requirements, testing standards and methods, and laboratory capabilities.

Sep 2022 - Present

Maintenance Administrator

Reading, Pa

As Maintenance Administrator, I served the production and facility maintenance departments. The majority of my time was spent working within the department's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS). Specific tasks included entering requisitions and creating purchase orders for a wide variety of services and goods; Supplying key performance indicator (KPI) data for Safe Quality Foods (SQF) compliance, such as the monthly preventative maintenance (PM) completion percentage; Creating periodic and ad-hoc reports regarding item usage, work or purchase history, inventory status, and asset information; Customizing eMaint forms (using field mapping to cut down on data entry time); Adding/Updating/Deleting detailed records regarding maintenance assets, parts, contacts, PM schedules, etc.; Using Visual FoxPro functions to enhance reports, workflows, and dashboard widgets.Maintenance had switched from an outdated maintenance management software 1-1/2 years prior to my arrival. There were some issues in the data transfer from one system to the other - so I also spent a good deal of time 'cleaning up' records. Not long into my employment - I was able to significantly reduce receiving errors by doing mass updates to the inventory table. The CMMS had API integration with the company ERP software (Syteline) - so ensuring the records were accurate was crucial.I played smaller support roles in Sanitation and Engineering doing similar tasks, and worked frequently with the staff accountants to review invoices and resolve price, quantity and G/L code issues. Some notable accomplishments are that I developed a method to batch print inventory labels (decreasing time spent and ensuring copy integrity) and created many useful tools in Excel (such as a Downtime Report Template with Pivot Tables & Charts, and a sanitation supply order form to determine the quantity needed to return supplies to min-on-hand).

Nov 2019 - Aug 2022

Administrative Assistant

Lancaster, Pa

This position focused mainly on answering phone calls, taking orders, processing paperwork and supporting the sales, production and shipping departments. I worked to develop tools to complete time-consuming tasks more efficiently. Most notably an Excel workbook for processing handwritten production timesheets. Beforehand, admins had been typing the times into an online timecard calculator, which was inconvenient and could lead to calculation errors. With my tool, the user types the begin/end times into paired cells. Using Excel functions, the elapsed time is calculated and this converted into hours in the decimal format - matching the input needed for the Labor journal (Navision). This provides a much more reliable figure than the previous method as well as an easily searchable database. The workbook reduced the amount of time needed to process the timesheets significantly. In shipping, I was responsible for recording all the outgoing orders and shipment details, processing parcel shipments via UPS Worldship and FedEx Shipping Manager software, and running end-of-day reports. This included validation of shipping addresses and processing international express shipments. For palletized shipments travelling internationally, I was responsible for generating export paperwork including commercial invoices, shipper's letter of instruction and related documents. I became familiar with different IncoTerms, harmonized classifications and how to determine the HST code for products ensuring the proper duties and taxes are collected and to avoid delays at the port of entry.Within the MS Navision ERP software - I frequently created new inventory and product records, bills of material, routers and attached production prints. Towards the end of my time at Kord King, I became more involved with quoting and sales - providing pricing to customers and creating Actrix (CAD) drawings of a wide variety of components and finished assemblies.

Sep 2016 - Nov 2019

Assembler - Buyer - Admin Specialist Ii

Leesport, Pa

I began my work at NEM as an assembler of wire harnesses and related components. This included cable cleaning, termination, labelling, insertion and soldering. After some time, I demonstrated an aptitude and familiarity with the parts and materials, which prompted my promotion to the Technical Buyer position. I managed the physical inventory, evaluated parts requirements, and issued purchase orders as well as receiving and storing incoming parts. I continued to develop and displayed a variety of skills and was given additional responsibilities. I began some estimator work quoting labor and creating assembly procedures/drawings. I helped with the creation and editing of ISO QMS documentation - including forms, logs, procedures etc. My work depended heavily on my capacity for autonomy and prioritizing tasks logically, as the executive personnel were often off-site.Other areas of work included bookkeeping and customer service. I entered vendor invoices and received/applied payments to open customer invoices (with discounts, if applicable) in Quickbooks.

Sep 2011 - Aug 2016

Machine Operator

Exton, Pa

At Oberthur, I worked in the 'reduction' department, where the goal was to load/feed pre-printed sheets of credit cards through a large die-cut machine. I operated some of the more 'tempermental' machines, which required many adjustments to perform at optimum speed. It was also my duty to perform in-process inspection using calipers to ensure compliance to customer specifications. Some other duties include filling out required paperwork, informal audits (to account for all material) and cross-training in other departments to help as needed.
