This internship, funded by Volac International, gave me the opportunity to work full time carrying out laboratory research over my summer break. I conducted a wide range of experiments and performed data analysis of results. At the end of my internship I presented my research findings in the form of a written scientific report as well as an oral presentation to the Port-Talbot branch of Volac. This was a fantastic experience in which I gained skills in microbiology research, microscopy, data analysis and data presentation.

I was the treasurer for the first committee of the Women in STEM society at the University of Exeter. This was a great position which not only helped me develop useful financial skills, such as managing expenses and invoices, but also the opportunity to work with a wonderful team to organise social and educational events.
