I used an in vivo modelling system to understand human TALPID3 patient mutations and the cause of the ciliopathy phenotype seen in these patients. Produced a gene edited Drosophila line to test new compounds aimed at overcoming field pesticide resistance, leading to a successful product testing line. Optimised the design of a new imaging platform for the purpose of testing new insecticide product compounds. Responsible for training staff to complete testing of compounds using this platform. Analysed PMA and EphA4 mice models to determine components of the suggested Clubfoot-causing pathway. In vivo testing in chick to show that upregulation of a specific gene is causing the nerve defect seen in a small subset of Clubfoot patients.
