I work to increase the diversity of voices involved in environmental conservation. This involves expanding our definition of science to include citizen science, collaborative fisheries research, and traditional ecological knowledge, among others. It also involves creating and fostering meaningful participation in exploration, science, and managing the natural resources we all depend on as humans.I currently have a hybrid professional identity with one foot in the academic world and one in practitioner world, working on oceans because that is one place where humans and nature could stand to get along better. I want to have my fish and eat them too.Check out my professional website: www.amyfreitag.org
