Marin Community Clinic is the second largest Health Care Provider in Marin County with almost 500 employees and over $50 million in revenue. Responsible for month end close, financial reporting, purchasing and overall accounting operations.

Reporting to the VP Controller/CAO, led the Operations Departments at BioMarin, including Revenue, Inventory/Costing, Payroll, and Accounts Payable. Managed month end close processing for these functions including reviewing journal entries, account reconciliations, and any unique special handling transactions globally, while ensuring compliance with US GAAP. Managed a team of 18 in a fast paced, dynamic environment.• Finance and key business lead on the successful integration of a new business segment representing $962m worth of annual gross revenue. • Led the Payroll Department transition from small single sourced payroll system to Oracle Payroll.• Identified for the last two years as the key High Performer with in the Finance Organization.

• Established internal controls and documented processes for SOX review and ensuring compliance. • Streamlined Accounts Payable process to enable outsourcing of invoice scanning and data entry which reduced costs, provided scalability and decreased cycle time. • Partnered with Commercial Operations to improve the process of contract review, maximizing revenue and ensuring compliance.

Treasury Wine Estates is an international premium wine business with a portfolio that includes brands such as Beringer, Lindeman’s and Chateau St. Jean. The regional business has over $1B in gross annual sales and over $100m in EBIT. Led the North America team on the global ERP implementation and Process Improvement project to align three separate divisions onto one global system and process. • Identified issues and risks that may affect delivery of milestones and created a mitigation plan.• Ensured solution design is aligned with best practice and enabled by “vanilla” technology whilst accommodating core business needs.• Supported Managing Directors Steering Committee role in the project, which includes identifying key areas of risk, budget management and performance to objectives.

Supported the Bottling, Warehouse, Distribution and Packaging areas of the business as it related to month end close, results, budgets, and forecasts. This also included responsibility for inventory accounting and standard costs as well as Fixed Assets.• Key contributor on global project that reduced costs by $61m through various strategies including existing contracts, closing plants, and optimizing capacity.• Created annual budgeting and forecasting processes representing an annual spend of approximately $130m.• Analyzed budget and actual variances and worked with senior management to identify risks and opportunities.• Financial Lead on centralizing bottling activities for over 12m cases of finished goods wine. This required analysis of plant closures (three shut down), centralization of freight and warehousing activities, and creating manufacturing and logistics centers of excellence. This saved the company over $4m annually.• Received the Chairman’s Award for work done on improving the business.

Responsible for accounting of Bulk Wine Inventory, Finished Goods Inventory and Dry Good Inventory with total assets of approx. $428m. Performed and reviewed monthly closing activities that included reconciliation’s, journal entry submissions, and analyzing reporting for integrity of monthly results. • Created processes to ensure balance sheet and profit and loss accounts were reconciled every month. • Shortened the month end close process from five days to three days.• Identified inventory integrity issues that lead to enhanced systems, controls and processes.• Implemented JDE manufacturing accounting for bottling operations. This enabled visibility into manufacturing activities and overall management of the bottling business.• Identified cost savings and reduction of variances through streamlined processes.
