My responsibilities include creating and adhering to the goals of each of my student's IEP's, 2 of whom are nonverbal, and all who are on the Autism Spectrum. Leading a staff of 5 Teacher Assistants and Student Behavioral Assistants. Facilitate a team which includes a Speech Pathologist, Occupational Therapist, Physical Therapist, Autism Specialists, Art Therapist, Music Therapist, and an Assistive Technology Specialist. Maintain the schedule and track when and where each student should be throughout the school day. Together, we create an individualized education plan (IEP) for each of the students we share. Our focus is to help each student attain their individualized goals in each of our areas of expertise. Through many communication barriers, we work daily to help our students grow and reach their highest potential. My job is to create and teach meaningful lesson plans that focus on each students' educational goals. Responsible for maintaining safety and order in the classroom. Assign duties throughout the day for the Teacher Assistant staff and address all questions and concerns the staff may have. Act as the liaison between the school and families. Participate in monthly sessions with the BOCES consulting Psychologist and Psychiatrist where I determine the focus of each session and discuss the successes and needs of my students. At the same time, I maintain a positive working relationship with the district building administration and staff in the school my classroom is housed in. I'm also responsible for the administrative piece to my position where I complete any assigned tasks from my direct administrators and remain in constant communication throughout each week.

Processed billing after patients were discharged from the unit. Organized, prepared, and maintained legal status paperwork for providers to access when a patient was either admitted to an inpatient unit or transferred to a different facility. Arranged transportation home for patients who were discharged from the unit. Often on the front line to alert staff and public safety when a patient became dis-regulated and needed assistance with calming down and/or remaining safe in the milieu.
