Front End Assistant Manager & Inventory Auditor
Fairfield, California, United States
As the Front End Assistant Manager I was responsible for the safety of my employees and members. I provided a clean, safe, and supportive environment for my staff. I conducted employee reviews, handled write-ups and disciplinary action. I also interviewed, counseled, trained and scheduled the front end staff. Conducting floor walks and checking the flow of each department throughout the day was vital. I performed opening and closing duties which included, filling tills, directing employees in tasks, review department checklists, secure building exits/entries, and assisting in merchandising. I set department benchmarks, built teams and encouraged employees to meet our goals. I utilized the AS400 computer system, registers, multiple phone lines, fax and copy machines. I also have experience in the vault, balancing registers, handled high dollar deposits, and collected on bad-debt checks. I observed Food Safety rules and was certified. I was part of the Employee Club Committee and organized holiday parties, company outings, and team building events. As the Inventory Auditor my primary duty was to compare the physical inventory and balance it with the book end. I worked directly with each department manger to control the shrink due to theft, damage, and loss. I implemented policies and procedures to reduce our overall shrink. In the receiving department I verified high end returns, damaged product, and recalled items. High theft items were counted regularly to track patterns as well deter future loss. The receiving department manifests were reviewed for overages and shorts due to shipping errors. I followed the flow of merchandise from the time it entered the building in receiving, to it's purchase. Some of the tools I used to complete my job were floor-jacks, scissor lifts, scanners and the AS400 program.
