Performed laboratory tests to obtain data for use in the diagnosis and treatment of disease in theHematology, Microbiology and Chemistry departments with precision and accuracy. Followed allhospital and laboratory policies, guidelines, procedures and protocols.

Clinical Immunology Team: Using an ELISA protocol I participated in the testing of serum and analysis of data from subjects enrolled in the StreptAvax TM Phase I/II Clinical Trial as well as samples from rabbit studies. Diagnostic Team: In support of the Velogene Rapid MRSA (Methacillin Resistant Staphylococcus aureus) Identification Kit project I performed stability assays, compiled, organized and analyzed stability data, performed QC on reagents for release, manufactured kit reagents and trained new employees. Participated in the re-development, optimization, verification, and validation of the Velogene Rapid VRE (Vancomycin Resistant Enterococcus) Identification Kit. Manufactured kit reagents for the clinical trial, assisted QC in testing of components when applicable. Communicated with clinical trial sites to ensure compliance with the clinical trial protocol. Assisted the clinical trial sites to find solutions to problems, analyzed, organized and approved data received from sites and assisted in writing the 510k submission to the FDA (Submission approved spring 2002). Also, participant on a research team in the pursuit of another method of detecting genomic DNA by combining a ligation assay, Cycling Probe TM Technology, ELISA and chemiluminescenceBiological Safety Office/Spill Team Member

Responsible for ensuring that clinicians receive all patient results in a timely and accurate manner by properly identifying specimens, running the instrument that analyzes the specimen, troubleshooting if problems arise, maintenance of instrument, maintaining quality control, and reporting results using laboratory information system. Also, responsible for correctly differentiating cells in peripheral blood and body fluids to further assist the clinician with diagnosis and treatment.

Recipient of a University grant to complete medical research; scope encompasses specimen preparation, conducting immunocytochemistry processes to identify markers, and interpreting data; presenting results to statewide professional conference.
