Manage a law firm focusing on all aspects of elder law, trusts & estates. We handle matters involving estate planning, trust & estate administration, financial elder abuse, conservatorships, will & trust contests. We work in San Francisco, San Mateo, Marin, Sonoma and Napa Counties.

In 2002 California communities voiced their need for legislation that would provide local public control of their electrical supply. In response, Assembly Bill 117 the “Community Choice Aggregation Law” passed, allowing local governments to purchase electricity on behalf of their communities. Sonoma Clean Power was formed to provide a choice beyond a for-profit, investor-owned utility (PG&E). As a member of the Board of Directors, I review and approve rate setting, budgets, customer programs and all other aspects of the utility.

Serve as an elected member of the Council of the City of Sonoma to oversee all municipal operations, provide policy leadership, and act as the legislative arm of City government.● Tackled major land use issues, marijuana dispensary licensing, finances at City Hall, and created an affordable housing trust fund during tenure in this position.● Served as Mayor in 2019, Mayor pro-term in 2018, and on the Finance/Budget Committee in 2017.

The SCWA manages and maintains a water transmission system that provides naturally filtered Russian River water to nine cities and special districts that in turn delivers drinking water to more than 600,000 residents in portions of Sonoma and Marin counties. As a director, I attended meetings, approved budgets, and gave direction to staff concerning the agency.

Chairperson of the association of Sonoma County Mayor's and Councilmembers Association. The Mayors’ and Councilmembers’ Association meets on a bi-monthly basis to connect and plan for the future on matters that affect the cities in Sonoma County. As chairperson, I planned the agendas for the meeting of Mayor's and led effort to revise bylaws to increase the efficiency and work output of the Mayors meeting.

Served as an Adjunct Professor in the College of Extended Learning and taught Estate Planning for Certified Financial Planning students. Developed syllabi and lesson plans for an inclusive, student-centered learning environment.

The Kaiser Permanente Labor Management Partnership was formed in 1997. The LMP was created to be different from traditional union-employer “cooperation” arrangements. The LMP integrated labor into decision making at all levels, from the board room to the examination room. I coordinated with Union and Kaiser leadership to set and achieve goals for employee performance, improved patient care, worker safety, and employee health. Applied staunch negotiation skills to devise and maintain contracts. Achieved consensus between multiple stakeholders through cross-functional collaboration and dedicated relationship building.● Created a Nation-wide program for mentoring and evaluating unit-based work teams to engage in performance improvement at the front-line level.

Create and present education to California Probate Referees at annual convention.

Created and taught educational materials for licensed private professional fiduciaries.

Created and implemented winning election strategy. Was elected as 1 of 12 members of the San Francisco Democratic County Central Committee in a field of 30 candidates. San Francisco's Democratic County Central Committee, or DCCC, is the governing body of the local Democratic Party as defined in California's Government Code and Elections Code. The DCCC is comprised of local Democrats elected by voters in each Assembly District, as well as partisan-level Democratic elected officials and nominees who serve as Ex Officio Officers.

Developed and implemented re-election strategy for San Francisco Supervisor Gerardo Sandoval.

Helped low wage hospital workers to join the Service Employees International Union. Negotiated contracts with healthcare employers. Lobbied State Legislature to pass Assembly Bill 442, prohibiting healthcare employers from using Medical dollars to engage in anti-union activities.

Developed and implemented strategy for successful San Francisco Supervisor campaign. 2000 was the first year San Francisco Supervisors were elected by district, as opposed to Citywide.

Organized voulunteers to attend rallys, phone bank and walk precincts for Congressman Vic Fazio in his successful bid for re-election.
