This public-facing and community-focused role involves organisation of and attending monthly PC meetings, minuting, correspondence and carrying out any action’s necessary week-by-week, including a monthly article for the Nar Valley News. The preparation & publishing of agendas / minutes on noticeboard and website. As the proper financial officer, I run all aspects of banking including paying invoices and applications for VAT relief, allocating CIL/National lottery funding, the annual precept and ensuring the annual financial AGAR audit is completed. I ensure that all contractors to the PC are paid in a timely manner and carry out their allotted tasks. I report, manage and resolve issues with highways, streetlights and the running of T&C’s/rent agreements of the village allotments. I am the responsible officer on Parish decisions regarding all aspects of residential and commercial Planning in accordance with conservation area/SSSI/ dark skies and submit PC planning responses to BCKLWN. I act as a liaison between Parish Councilors, BCKLWN, NCC, County Councilors, Residents, Volunteers’ Local businesses, Holkham Estates, English Heritage, CAPFA, PPC, Village Hall and the Castle Acre School. I oversee and book CPD and training for Councilors and am the responsible officer for any disciplinary procedures necessary. Notable projects of historic interest include Non-Conformist Burial Ground (opposite the Castle) and research and project managing the new Village Sign to sensitively replace the original Harry Carter works.
