With several years of legal experience in administrative law and civil litigation, my practice focuses on general civil litigation, immigration law, and employment/labor law. I have broad experience in litigation—including administrative appeals before the Federal Board of Immigration Appeals, complex case management in the U.S. Department of Justice’s trial division, and representing clients’ interests in State Court and Immigration Court. Additionally, I have experience in community lawyering, where I have acted as legal counsel and worked alongside community groups impacted by environmental issues to develop coalition-building strategies, influence policymaking, and litigate toxic harms caused by environmental issues. I am committed to providing high-quality legal services to a diverse range of clients. In my immigration practice, I assist employers with all immigration-related employment issues and assist individual clients in filing for work and student visas and applying for legal residency or adjustment of status, and I have expertise in obtaining relief from removal procedures—including claims for asylum and relief for victims of trafficking, domestic abuse, and violent crimes. I also representsboth employers and employees in the full spectrum of employment law issues, including employment and contract disputes and drafting employment contracts and other internal policy-related materials. Additionally, I apply my background in environmental studies and my experience working in a national environmental justice litigation clinic to represent clients in a range of environmental law matters, such as regulatory compliance and investigating and litigating toxic torts. I grew up in rural Oklahoma, and have lived in rural Vermont and Washington, D.C. before moving to Salt Lake City at the end of 2021. I earned an undergraduate degree and master’s degree in Environmental Sociology, which I put to use as a Community-Based Researcher and Board Advisor for local non-profits. Later, I attended the top environmental law school in the country—Vermont Law School, where I graduated magna cum laude.
