During my placement at The House of Bruar, I assisted the head buyer with the logistics of bringing freight to the UK from Europe and the USA. To ensure we received complete orders as quickly as possible I confirmed all the orders with the multiple suppliers before they were shipped to the container docks and I informed the shipping company of all commodity codes to ease the process at customs. Through this process I became confident when negotiating trading terms which secured the best possible terms for both parties. Along with my primary role, I also spent sometime within the accounts department where I matched and passed invoices with stock records. The time I spent in the department sparked an interest in the finance industry.
