During my twenty-five-year teaching career, I have had a variety of experiences that have shaped who I am today and added to my skill set and knowledge in the areas of educational technology, video editing and production, and graphic design. Most importantly, I am a wife and a mother. I love football and my most favorite activity is watching our son play football. I am most happy when I am in the Outer Banks in NC. The Dallas Cowboys are my favorite football team. I love getting out and meeting new people. Singing Karaoke is a favorite hobby of mine.I have a passion for educational technology. I am a firm believer that we are never finished learning, especially in the field of technology. I knew my masters degree was already out of date when I graduated and all my hard work was in vain if I didn't continue my learning and keep up with the ever changing world of technology. Over the past several years, I have developed a love of video editing, production, and graphic design. Everything I have learned has been self taught through productive struggle, creative thinking, and of course YouTube and Google! If I can think it, I can and will make it happen. Each project brings new challenges and learning opportunities. From the first time I saw a Power Point slideshow put to music, I fell in love with video production. It is a powerful and emotional story telling tool. Currently I am working with the Appoquinimink High School Football Program to create social media content and produce and edit team highlight and hype videos. Prior to that I worked with a team of teachers to create video lessons for the Math Task Leaders Committee for Virtual Instruction for Appoquinimink School District (2020 - 2021). During a very stressful time, this was one of my most favorite things that I got to do. I took great pride in creating video lessons for teachers that were creative, fun, and made their jobs easier.During my career, my husband and I owned, operated, and managed Tristate CheerNastics, Inc., a successful and nationally recognized cheerleading/tumbling gym in New Castle, DE. Over the 13 years that we owned the gym, I learned that nothing comes easy and it takes a growth mindset to overcome the ups and downs that you experience in life. I also learned that it is important to surround yourself with like minded and positive people to help you grow and to help you bring out the best in yourself and in them. My future goals include working in the field of video editing and production and getting further education in this field.
