About Amy Hudson

After the realization that I would not be fulfilling my childhood dream of becoming a fighter jet pilot I spent a few years raising my family and working in various retail and office positions. When my children reached their teen years I felt that it was now my time to fulfill my other passion helping those in need! In 2013, I graduated with my BA in Christian Ministries and began my work at the Dream Center of Gaston County a non-profit 501c3 organization.During the past 5 years I have developed and implemented programs that help individuals and families in poverty find employment, develop financial literacy, build relationships with their children, learn how to serve nutritious meals while on a tight budget, and kids find a love for fitness through camps. Also during my time at the Dream Center of Gaston County I have recruited, trained, and retained over 100 volunteers to help with the programs. I did all of this while also building administrative policies and procedures, writing and reporting on various grants, and developing relationships and partnerships with other organizations and individuals. My favorite part of my work over the past 5 years is being able to see the positive changes in people’s lives and the hope many now have as a direct result of the programs I put in place to help them.
