Responsible for the husbandry, management and welfare of the animals on the giraffe section which included; Rothschild's Giraffe, Okapi, Malayan and Lowland Tapir, Congo Buffalo, Philippine Spotted Deer, Bactrian Camel, Persian Onager, Asian Short-clawed Otter, Red River Hogs, Babirusa and Anoa and Pudu.

Attending the animal transfer and vets meetings when required.Gaining valuable keeping experience through spending regular time working on animal sections (focusing on rhinos, giraffes and hoof stock) in order to learn animal husbandry practices, the design and implementation of enrichment and to watch how keepers carrying out training sessions. Carrying out detailed analyses of the sustainability of the zoos collection and helping produce welfare reports and presentations.Spending a day a month in the endocrinology lab helping with the extraction process for Black Rhinos in order to carry out hormone assessments on all Chester’s female Rhinos.Editing Chester Zoo’s husbandry guidelines for the all the mammals in the collection, getting them to a high standard to enable them to be used in other collections.Helping to complete new species proposal forms.
