This role focuses on bargaining support and delivering central communications to the 1,650 members of URFA.

In this role, I work with our team to conceptualize, design, and deliver training and retreats for small groups and corporate clients.

In this role, I manage Cedar + Sage's communications and digital presence, including marketing, web design, social media, and media relations.

In a freelance capacity, I provide digital communications, campaigns support, and marketing consulting services to non-profits, trade unions, and small businesses.

This was a dual role that focused on public and media relations, as well as coordinating and delivering central communications to the 20,000 members of SGEU. This position included providing guidance on public policy issues and campaigns, writing press releases and liaising with the media, graphic design for print and digital use, creating educational resources and courses with the Education Committee, content and copywriting for social media, and a variety of other responsibilities. My proudest accomplishment in this role was creating and hosting SGEU's first-ever podcast: Pandemic at Work.

In this role, I was responsible for digital communications including planning, creating and posting innovative social media content, graphic design, copywriting, ad production, video production, and news monitoring. I worked collaboratively to write press releases and other communications content, liaised with the media and assisted with press conferences. I conceptualized and ran public-facing live digital events and staff training webinars, and assisted with public relations at in-person events.

This role included event and sponsorship coordination responsibilities for major fundraisers. I contributed to organizational communications, such as writing press releases and membership email blasts. I also worked to recruit, engage, coordinate, and train volunteers. My proudest accomplishment in this role was spearheading a 6-session webinar based online training program for members and volunteers.

During this time, I travelled solo through Oceania and Asia, enjoyed new cultural experiences, experienced a meditation retreat in Nepal, completed my TESOL certification and a volunteer placement as an after-school English teacher at an orphanage in Malaysia, took recreational cooking classes in several countries, made lifelong connections with new friends, and did some good old fashioned being a tourist.Places visited: New Zealand, Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, Brunei, India, Nepal, Vietnam, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea, North Korea, Indonesia, and Australia.

In this role, I had the privilege of working on behalf of Canadian young workers to increase representation, participation, and leadership within the labour movement. My role primarily focused on the development and facilitation of youth-focused education, inter-generational communication workshops, and innovative online education programs. I planned many events, large and small, and did project management, content creation, organization, budgeting and reporting for forums, conferences, and the first CLC National Young Workers’ Summit. I also had the great honour to represent Canada on the world stage, and I represented Canadian young workers with the International Trade Union Confederation, the Trade Union Confederation of the Americas, and the International Labour Organization. I also worked to support the development of similar programs with affiliated and allied organizations. I did a significant amount of public speaking, and delivered speeches and workshops to groups of up to four thousand delegates. I assisted in organizational communications including social media. I also led political action and assisted in lobby organization, advocating for issues affecting working people. I was staff to an inspirational advisory committee of more than twenty stakeholders who helped guide the direction and focus of my work.

In this role, I worked to coordinate a grant-funded program to educate high school students and those entering the workforce about the basics of Occupational Health and Safety. I coordinated a team of dedicated volunteers province-wide and promoted our program with secondary schools, schools districts and community organizations. In addition, I worked to develop, update and distribute all program materials, ensured that volunteers were trained and prepared, and collected feedback from classrooms who accessed the Ready for Work program.
