About Amy Binder

Masters graduate, obtaining a distinction in Clinical Skills in Integrative Psychotherapy in 2018. I am passionate about supporting those struggling with their mental wellbeing to help work through their current difficulties. I focus on providing an individualistic and holistic approach to support some of the most vulnerable in the community with compassion and understanding.I have experience working in residential services, supporting women with mental health difficulties as well as outreach services supporting survivors of Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking in the charity sector. I have also been promoted into a managerial position helping to develop a team and ensure passion and quality of support is provided to each individual service user. I have recently taken up a new role as Mental Health Practitioner with 42nd street charity in Manchester supporting young people aged 11-18 through their Integrative Community Response service.

These women all had life controlling issues such as eating disorders, substance abuse, depression and also victims of sex trafficking. I visited the house twice a week for night shifts in which I would organise group activities for the women, provide one on one private sessions in which the women could talk to me about any issues and also had to remain calm and adapt to any situation that may arise throughout the night. Due to the nature of the women's issues I was responsible for the women's medication and safety at all times. The job started on side my Psychology degree as a voluntary role, but as my experience grew I was promoted to a paid role, requiring more contact hours. Each individual patient is vulnerable , and I loved the opportunity to see the potential of each woman as they developed, whilst remaining patient and understanding at all times. Show less
