I currently supervise a team of five online journalists at Global BC.We are an award-winning team and cover news and politics across the province.It is my responsibility to make sure we are covering breaking news, our website and social media is up-to-date with news of the day and to manage the day-to-day operations of the team.I am the first person in this position at Global BC.

I am an award-winning member of the Global BC web team, winning multiple RTDNA awards as an online producer.As part of the team I manage the Global BC website, Facebook page, Global BC and BC1 Twitter accounts and the Global BC Instagram account.I am responsible for covering the news of the day and am used to working to tight and hourly deadlines. I also cover breaking news on social media and write copy for the website.I write original features about topics that interest British Columbians and conduct my own interviews.I also have experience being on TV and present segments on Global BC and BC1. I present topics that are trending online in an interesting and dynamic way.I interact with our viewers on social media and provide instant feedback to questions, concerns, comments etc.Send me a message if you have a story idea for us!

I produce and host a weekly segment on Friday nights discussing the most popular online stories of the week.This is a volunteer position.

I covered crime, sports, arts in the community, and anything to do with Pitt Meadows, including the council meetings, and I loved every minute of it.The fast-pace of the job, coupled with the opportunity to meet so many new and interesting people who were working to make Maple Ridge and Pitt Meadows a better place, was both humbling and fascinating.I not only wrote and generated my own stories, but also took photos for the newspaper and the website, and managed the company Facebook page.It was a very busy, but a very rewarding position that taught me a lot in the short time I was there.

On a daily basis I write stories, act as a liaison between the staff and the community and I work with all mediums of social media to promote NowPublic’s work.

I was part of the Olympic News Service team for the Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver. I was stationed at the Main Press Centre.
