Duties include: - Saphenous vein harvesting (proficient in endoscopic and open techniques) – over 3000 cases completed- Radial artery harvesting (open technique) – over 700 cases completed- First and second assisting in adult cardiac cases, including CABG, valve replacements/ repairs, complex aortic surgery, minimally invasive valve surgery, DaVinci-assisted mitral valve repair, TEVARs, TAVRs, VADs, and ECMO - Placement of radial and femoral arterial lines, insertion of Foley catheters, removal of chest tubes and temporary pacing wires, placement of venous access lines, insertion and removal of intra-aortic balloon pumps- Routine care of cardiothoracic surgery inpatients, including consults, progress notes, managing medications and treatment plans, apatient education, discharges- Responsible for managing 8-member PA team, including hiring and training new PAs, managing daily workflow, interfacing with physicians and administration, maintaining monthly call schedule

Duties included: - Saphenous vein and radial artery harvesting- First and second assisting in adult cardiac and vascular surgeries- Placement of arterial lines, removal of chest tubes and temporary pacing wires, placement of venous access lines, insertion and removal of intra-aortic balloon pumps, bedside thoracentesis- Daily care of cardiothoracic surgery inpatients, including consults, progress notes, managing medications and treatment plans, and discharges- Care of pre- and post-operative patients in surgeon’s clinic, new patient H&Ps, and wound care

Duties included: - Saphenous vein harvesting - First and second assisting in cardiac surgeries (as above) and thoracic surgeries (thoracoscopic and open lung surgeries, including VATS lobectomies, esophagectomies, thymectomies, and mediastinoscopies) - Placement of arterial lines, removal of chest tubes and temporary pacing wires, placement of venous access lines, insertion and removal of intra-aortic balloon pumps - Daily care of cardiothoracic surgery inpatients (ICU and telemetry), including writing progress notes, discharge summaries, and managing medications and treatment plans - Following patients in cardiac surgery and lung cancer clinics, including initial workup, writing pre-operative H&Ps, admission orders, and post-operative follow-up-Post-operative wound care, including wound VAC application and management
