I'm the founding director of this statewide nonprofit organization that works to "ensure that California's future holds California's past" by providing services that support the state’s diverse living cultural heritage. The Alliance cultivates the growth of traditional arts through cultural stewardship to tend California’s unique cultural landscape; connections that put resources, people, and information together; and services to artists that provide tools for growth.

I developed the first programs in traditional arts for this county arts agency based in discovery research leading to several exhibitions, school-based programs, and concerts. Highlights included the "Textile Arts of Laos" featuring the handwork of Hmong, Lao, Mien, Khmu, Mien and Lahu artists of the San Joaquin Valley at the Fresno Art Museum and "Familia, Fe, y Fiestas: Celebrations of the Holiday Season" which presented the expressive arts of altar-making, tradtional foods, nacimientos, music and dance related to the Christmas cycle by Mexican Americans in California's Cental Valley.

I worked on the orginating team of the "Shades of LA" project, a photo and oral history collecting project focused on L.A.'s diverse ethnic communities.
