I am an Assistant Professor and Pre-nursing Program Director at Mount St Mary's University. In my latter role, I oversee and coordinate a wide array of academic needs for the Pre-Nursing Program at Mount Saint Mary’s University. I spearhead efforts to improve student success and retention via data gathering and analysis. I implement my findings in collaboration with university departments such as Admissions, Enrollment, Advising, and other academic departments to facilitate change for greater student success. I work with faculty who teach in the program to standardize and improve instruction across the different sections of each required pre-nursing course. I review, update and implement curriculum based on assessment data and national standards for Microbiology, Anatomy and Physiology.I graduated from the University of Southern California in August 2014 with a Ph.D. in Marine Biology and Biological Oceanography. My research expertise is in the area of protistan gene expression and transcriptomics.
