CurrentExecutive for this state economic development agency, focused on promoting local jobs/businesses and marketing the State of Washington as a destination for creativity and cutting-edge content creation. • Manage a staff of 6 employees and allocate a $3.5M budget focused on evangelizing WA State as a premier filmmaking destination, in the face of fierce competition from other markets, leading to 126 projects being filmed in the region and generation of 24,000 jobs for local workers and an estimated $386 million in related economic activity.• Oversee strategic planning and annual work plans for the organization, staff, and commissions including the Film Leadership Council and statewide Equity Committee for Film—as well as special purpose groups such as the Safety on Set Task Force and Creative Industries Recovery Task Force.• Design, market, and implement inclusive programs/campaigns such as the Media Mentorship Program, Innovation Lab and the Keep Film in WA advocacy campaign.• Architect the messaging, branding, and storytelling needed to establish Washington as a top creative hub and nationally-recognized entertainment destination—despite the state committing only a tiny fraction of financial support/resources to the industry compared to other geographies.• Serve as industry thought leader and spokesperson, providing testimony at legislative hearings and serving as a presenter at business/industry conferences and events; also host international business delegations and have served as a member of the Governor’s Trade Mission to China.• Oversee government relations and legislative advocacy efforts, working with Congressional Representatives, the Governor’s Office, the WA State Legislature, WA Depts. of Revenue and Commerce, and over 125 Chambers of Commerce, economic development organizations and regional councils across WA State to foster economic growth.
