Deputy Management Accountant for the University of Wolverhampton supporting the Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing, I am responsible for the financial monitoring and reporting of all Commercial and Research activity for the Faculty.I have worked for the University for in excess of 15 years where I have worked my way up from a Cashier, onto a Bank reconciliation Clerk where I was responsible for the Universities main bank account reconciliation (worth C.£150m).I then commenced my studying (AAT) which I completed over 3 years alongside working full time which I completed in July 2015.During/post qualifying as an Accredited Accounting Technician I have worked as an Accountancy Assistant where I was responsible for the Financial monitoring and reporting for the Universities Human Resources, Occupational Health Services and Staff Development Unit. I did this alongside still reconciling the Universities several bank accounts.I then was successful in securing a promotion in-house, were I moved to the European Funded Major Projects Team. Here I was responsible for not only the financial monitoring of a portfolio of projects funded by the European Commission, but I also was responsible to collating the information and pulling evidence for the project claims and submitting them to the funder inline with eligibility criteria and budgets.After returning to work after maternity leave I have reduced my hours temporarily to 3 days a week. In light of the UK leaving the EU I decided to make a sideways move over to support the Universities Faculty of Education, Health and Wellbeing which is where I currently work supporting the faculties Enterprise Team.Alongside my day job, I am also a Parent Governor at St Michaels C.E Primary School in Tettenhall. I sit on the Finance and Staffing Committee, and the School Improvement Committee. I am also a link Governor for two subjects (Writing and PSHE). St Michaels is an Ofsted rated OUTSTANDING Church of England school, where all decisions made as a Governing Board are made with the Children and their welfare in mind.
