As a consultant, I am focused on advancing sustainability and climate leadership across multiple industries on a range of sustainability issues including energy and water management, climate resilience, and sustainability planning and reporting. I have served as a trusted advisor to clients that include San Diego County Regional Airport Authority and Dallas/Fort Worth, San José, and Seattle-Tacoma International Airports, and I have led the development of Sustainability Management Plans, Water Stewardship Plans, and Energy Management Plans for public and private sector clients. Previously, I served as Deputy Commissioner of Sustainability for O'Hare and Midway International Airports. I worked to integrate sustainability in all airport activities, from design and construction to day-to-day operations and maintenance, including management of the energy efficiency and renewable energy efforts for one of the region’s largest energy portfolios. My work included opening the first US airport apiary at O’Hare - a job training program for underserved communities in Chicago - and the development of a landscape maintenance program using rescued grazing animals. In addition, I launched the nation's most aggressive green concessions program at O’Hare and Midway with more than 250 restaurants and stores. I also oversaw CDA’s Environmental Compliance and Noise Management programs, including the nation’s largest Residential Sound Insulation Programs. In less than two years in the aviation industry, I was recognized with the “Top 40 under Forty” award by the trade publication Airport Business. I came to the CDA with more than ten years of experience in environmental and transportation planning, including as Climate Program Manager and Midwest Regional Director for ICLEI-Local Governments for Sustainability. I also worked with the Chicago Transit Authority and City of Seattle to advance sustainability through urban transit projects.
