About Amy Malkemes

I am a Director of Advancement with 20+ years of experience in fundraising and external communications. I have developed key management skills and abilities, knowledge and expertise of the industry, and people-skills while working for and volunteering at a variety of non-profit organizations in the greater Boston area. I began my career as a successful grant writer in 2000 while I was still in graduate school and secured a $1,000,000 three-year federal/city grant to start a Beacon School in Philadelphia. In 2002, I relocated back to Boston and expanded my horizons by learning all aspects of the development field including: special events, foundation and corporate grants, annual funds, major gifts and Moves Management, online giving, and donor stewardship, cultivation and retention strategies. Also, I am proficient in Microsoft Office, Google, many Raiser's Edge applications, and Constant Contact. I also have experience in using Salesforce, WordPress, ETapestry and DonorPerfect Online. At my current position at Cathedral High School, I am managing a small Advancement team to raise $3.2 million annually while helping close out a $60 million endowment campaign. Also, I work part time for Good Hope Inc as a fundraising consultant and grant writer, currently helping them raise sponsorships for their Good Hope Green 5K.
