I love building and maintaining relationships and using my network to connect people. I enjoy learning, innovating and sharing my knowledge. My international experience in the not-for-profit sector, healthcare and services for persons with disabilities and older persons has allowed me to hone my skills and knowledge. I have gained expertise in many areas of interest including business and service development, staff development, culture change, management and networking. Some of my most notable career accomplishments include leading the management change for the establishment of an independent, not-for-profit limited company and developing a diverse, motivated team of employees, leading the closure of an institution to enable people to live socially inclusive lives in their communities. I am known for being approachable and empathetic. My good sense of humor and compassion helps encourage my colleagues to enjoy their jobs as much as I do and empower those that I support. I am never shy about rolling up my sleeves, getting involved and am driven to make change and make a difference. 🌞Peak life experiences include completing a 15km open water swim around the Isles of Scilly (UK) in the Atlantic Ocean and representing Ireland in an Ice Swimming event in Poland. Open water swimming is in my blood, and I enjoy the challenge, uncertainty and strength required by every swim. It has helped me connect and belong as there is an unspoken acknowledgment and acceptance when you meet another open water swimmer. The commitment and resilience has been transferable into my professional and personal life. 🏊♀️
