Appointed Assistant Leader of a new car retailing venture store within Bluewater, working with a renowned industry executive making a return to the car industry . Rockar has been established with a vision to change the way new cars are bought by challenging the car dealership model in every aspect.

Tasked with the running of ‘Scene’ – a VIP section comprising of 3 screens, at Vue Westfield. This involved me being responsible for the recruitment, training, disciplinary procedures and appraisals for Scene staff, as well as the staff schedule and working with the film scheduler to optimise showing times. I am also responsible for maximising revenue and customer satisfaction. Along with being Scene Manager, I did some work on managing events held within the cinema; clients included Activision, Disney and business meetings between Vue and other companies, and was Brand Ambassador tasked with increasing awareness of Event Cinema.In addition to this, I assisted with the day to day running of the main cinema, responsible for hitting our targets for stock control, sales, payroll as well as managing 4 Team Leaders and one-hundred-and-twenty staff and assisting the HR Managers in all aspects.

Tasked with improving operations at site through film scheduling and efficient staff rota-ing, maximising opportunities as well as maintaining high levels of customer service. I was then appointed Retail Manager responsible for stock control and maximising sales.As well as the above, I worked closely with the General Manager assisting with his responsibilities; completing weekly payroll entry and business week reviews, being in charge of the site when he was on holiday and attending Area Meetings in his absence. All this was in addition to the day to day running of the cinema, managing other managers, two Team Leaders and forty-five staff.

I was given the role of HR Manager tasked with recruitment, training, disciplinary procedures and appraisals. This role involved me being highly organised, good at communication and able to delegate. It was doing this role that began my interest in developing my HR skills. I was also in charge of film scheduling having a direct influence on the site’s market share. In addition to this, I dealt with the day to day running of the cinema, managing two Team Leaders and forty-four staff, and worked closely with the rest of the management team to ensure targets were hit operationally and in other controllable areas such as stock and payroll.

My main duties were dealing with the day to day running of the cinema and assisting the management team. Roles included audit, assisting HR, Health and Safety and ensuring site hits targets operationally. One task that I was directly responsible for was the staff schedule and hitting payroll targets set by Head Office.
