Dr. Ribeiro, who is Board Certified in Cardiology, was most recently a Professor Medicine and Director of the Cardiology Fellowship Program at Loma Linda University Medical Center in Loma Linda, California. He received his Medical Degree in 1977 from Universidade do Porto in Porto, Portugal, and his Ph.D. from Universidade Nova De Lisboa in 1992. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency and Fellowship in Cardiology at Hammersmith Hospital, Royal Postgraduate Medical School in London, England, in 1984. He is also a fellow in the American College of Cardiology and the European Society of Cardiology. Dr. Ribeiro has published 130 manuscripts and 34 papers in peer-reviewed cardiology journals. In addition, Dr. Ribeirio has published seven book chapters, including one in Dr. Eric Topol’s Textbook of Interventional Cardiology. He has been a reviewer for the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, British Heart Journal, American Journal of Cardiology and European Heart Journal.

Dr. Scruggs is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and one of only a few subspecialty trained Oculoplastic Surgeons in the state of Arkansas. Her experience combines the meticulous nature of eye surgery with the creativity of plastic surgery. Her practice encompasses both reconstructive and cosmetic surgery of the eyelids, orbit (eye socket) and lacrimal system (tear duct) for patients with disorders due to aging, systemic disease, trauma, cancer and congenital defects.

Kris Shewmake, MD specializes in Cosmetic Surgery that helps his patients achieve a more youthful, rested, and natural appearance. His eight years of surgical training after medical school included a General Surgery residency at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) Medical Center and a Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery residency in Dallas at the University of Texas-Southwestern Medical Center. Dr. Shewmake then spent an extra year at UCLA working with children and adults affected by facial birth deformities. Upon completion of his fellowship in 1992, Dr. Shewmake returned to his native state of Arkansas as Chief of Plastic Surgery at UAMS and Arkansas Children‘s Hospital.
