Conducting research full time in the Translational Biophotonics and Imaging Laboratory, under the direction of Dr. Timothy Muldoon. My current research focus is in the area of blood diagnostics, specifically leukocyte differential tests for point-of-care settings. I have examined the use of acridine orange as a contrast agent to differentiate three populations of leukocytes, and will continue to optimize and characterize this dye for other point-of-care applications.My experience includes performing cell culturing for characterizing devices, immunolabeling, and dynamic, live cell imaging using multiphoton microscopy. Additionally, I have bioconjugated nanocages for the visualization of EGFR endocytosis in breast cancer cells, and assisted in microendoscopy imaging of human colonic tissue.

Assisted with the ELEG Systems and Signals course and taught two labs for that course.

Designed and implemented a week long summer program for 8th and 9th grade girls from surrounding schools. The purpose of the camp was to inspire young girls to become engineers.

Performed venipunctures on elderly patients in area nursing homes.

Researched the effects of 3D structure on cell proliferation as preliminary research on heterotopic ossification (bone forms in soft tissue after trauma).
