As the CEO of the Digital Economy Council of Australia (DECA), formerly Blockchain Australia, I am driven by a forward-thinking, human-centered, and community-minded approach to all things digital. Since 2007, I have immersed myself in technology, and in 2016, I transitioned into the digital economy, focusing on digital assets and distributed ledger technology (DLT), particularly blockchain.In my current role at DECA, I lead the association with strategic vision and operational excellence. My responsibilities encompass a wide range of executive functions, including strategic planning, project management, policy advocacy, stakeholder engagement, and operational oversight. I engage extensively with government agencies, AUSTRAC, ASIC, Treasury, banks, educational institutions & a diverse group of professionals—executives, entrepreneurs, developers, and founders.Under my leadership, DECA has driven industry growth by connecting and championing the implementation of blockchain technology across the economy. I have spearheaded initiatives that enhance member engagement, promote regulatory clarity, and strengthen industry partnerships. My work has solidified DECA’s position as a pivotal voice in the industry, contributing to policy development and representing member interests on key issues.Throughout my career, I have gained comprehensive knowledge and valuable experience across a wide range of sectors, including justice, human rights, MedTech, education, blockchain, cryptocurrency, building design, construction, radio broadcasting, disability services, mining, and telecommunications. This diverse experience has equipped me with a unique perspective and a wealth of knowledge that I leverage to drive positive societal change through technology.I have also co-founded an award-winning MedTech startup in brain technology, focusing on innovative solutions that create significant breakthroughs in the field.
