- Representing the 18-35 age group at Humanists UK events and meetings- Conducting research to devise a questionnaire measuring the sense of community and event preferences within NI Humanists, in particular amongst the 18-35 age group- Chairing online events, for example, a pub quiz for YH members- Completing training to become an approved School Speaker, enabling me to run classes on humanism- Undertaking ‘One Life: An Introduction to Humanism’: a six-week, in depth course- Attending lectures which apply a humanist perspective to topical issues such as vaccine hesitancy

- Administrative support to the public engagement/supporter services team- Using CRM for numerous functions including processing tax relief appeals, gift aid, donation batches and updating supporter information- Operating Microsoft Office packages to complete mail merges and extract data from spreadsheets

- Worked part-time in hospitality alongside my studies since I was 16, learning to manage my time to balance studying, work and numerous volunteering positions, while still excelling academically- Increased ability to work positively and productively in groups through working as part of a team in all of these roles in addition to leading a number of society committees- Built capacity to deliver excellent customer service in very busy, high pressure environments- Improved my confidence and interpersonal skills, developing from shy and quiet to friendly and talkative- Discovered a passion for wine by working in an enoteca (‘wine library’), attended monthly wine tastings in my last position and frequent wine tastings since with the Bacchus Wine Society

- Founded and led Newcastle University’s Oxfam Society- Raised significant funds for causes such as the humanitarian crisis in Yemen and the Indonesia hurricane and tsunami emergency appeal- Campaigned in line with Oxfam’s annual projects including Stand as One and Behind the Barcodes- Organised events: an ‘OxJAM’, rally, pub quiz, talk with the student coordinator and petitioning stalls- Chaired meetings and undertook administrative work, specifically completing handover documents and applying for grants- Collaborated with other societies and local Oxfam groups, for instance, the Amnesty International society as part of the Stand As One campaign- Recorded a webinar detailing advice on running an Oxfam society for the other student campaigners
