Hello, my name is Amy Serna. I am a 3rd year at Montclair State University studying Fashion Design and Merchandising with a Minor in Business. I have a strong interest in working corporate or design for a luxury fashion company. I seek to gain insight in all facets of the industry whether that be in sales, public relations, buying, merchandising, product development, supply chain management, production, and design because I am passionate about using my analytical and creative skillsets in furthering my career and making an impact in the fashion industry. My experience as a Sales Associate and Brand Ambassador has given me the opportunity to explore sales and public relations for a retail fashion company and has prepared me to take the next steps in my career path with the communication and team work skills that have been instilled in me.I also had the amazing opportunity to intern at one of my favorite designers, Anna Sui, in the production and e-commerce departments. This experience exposed me to all the inner workings and operations that are involved in creating and growing a fashion brand on all levels from design, sewing, production, and e-commerce. I got to assist in creating cost-sheets, communicate with the contractors involved in creating and finishing a final sample, and ensure the timely delivery and quality of the products so as to adhere to the brand vision and maintain customer needs. Overall, I am enthralled by fashion and its functions on a design and business level. I hope to connect and discover more about amazing opportunities that are in store!
