Responsible for producing monthly management accounts, budgets, variance analysis and annual financial statements for the head office of a multinational electronics company. Special responsibility for monitoring and controlling the spend of the R&D department. Level of responsibility was fast-tracked following the departure of the other Head Office Accountant on long-term sick leave. Demonstrated ability to take the initiative, work under pressure and learn new tasks quickly.Took a lead role in internal audit work, involving an enthusiastically received redesign of the workbook.Also engaged in the review of Corporate Governance compliance, resulting in the identification of risk.

Senior Analyst role gave exposure to a wider client base, including public sector, charity and very small entity clients. Also appointed as Manager on a number of audits. Responsible for the overall strategy and budget of each audit, the role involved risk assessment, oversight of the audit approach, review of audit testing and review of the relevant financial statements prior to Partner review and sign-off. The experience fulfilled a longstanding ambition to gain international work experience.

2007 - 2008 Assistant ManagerField-manager on a portfolio of clients, ranging from small-to-medium entities to FTSE 100 multinationals. Responsible for managing teams of field staff, facilitating relations with client staff and completing audits on time and on budget. The position required time and people-management skills, as well as the ability to multi-task and plan as all sections of the audit fell under my remit. The job also required strong technical skills, with exposure to GAAP, IFRS, Sarbanes Oxley and Treasury work.2006-2007 Senior AssociateIn addition to normal audit testing work, responsible for mentoring and teaching junior associates.
