My role as Marketing and Communications Manager at Furness Education Trust involves promoting the school within our local and wider community, ensuring that we maintain a consistent output that follows our schools ethos and values I am based in Barrow-in-Furness but my job does involve some international travel. At Furness Education Trust, we understand that every parent wants the best for their child. So do we – and we believe a great way to achieve this is by our schools working together as part of our Trust to deliver our aims, whilst embodying our values. Our approach must be led by our shared values, creating a sense of Trust identity and shared responsibility for what happens in our own school and in all the other schools in the Trust; to unlock the potential of every child, whatever it takes; to feel as responsible for giving children in all Trust schools outstanding educational opportunities. Our vision is to make our Trust schools, the local schools of choice whilst maintaining our position at the heart of the Barrow community. My role as Marketing and Communications Manager is to ensure that the Trust's vision and the vision of each individual school is communicated consistently to our community. One of our key core values is relationships, with a large part of my role involving building relationships both internally and externally in our wider community.Furness Academy, the secondary school in our Trust, has been the school of choice for our local area for the past three years, since my movement into the marketing role.My passion for the community and the role I have within our Trust has led me to introduce a number of new events to invite parents and the community into our schools, bringing our leadership team into a more active role within the community and connecting all departments in a single promotional vision. With the number of new activities and events that I have introduced as part of my role, I have no doubt that we will be able to achieve our goals of topping our record breaking Year 7 intake next year for Furness Academy maintaining the position of the school of choice in the local area, develop our inter-school relationships across the Trust and cement our position as the heart of Barrow.
