Supporting older people at risk of social isolation.

I developed a wide range of stakeholder partnerships across a range of sectors. The role also involved event management, organising meetings, supporting the communications team with PR, activities co-ordination, delivering presentations, social media engagement & volunteer management & recruitment.

I developed stakeholder relationships representing the MP when he was not in the constituency and managed a team of staff & volunteers. My role also involved event organisation, diary management, training & community related casework. I was also responsible for delivering the communications strategy including an annual report.

My specialism was b2b content production and editing, in particular on the subject of internet marketing. My clients were from manufacturing, education & marketing sectors. I also wrote a weekly column for the Birmingham Post.

I set up an Internet marketing company with two colleagues- my role was that of Project Director. I worked alongside the Sales And Creative Director to design & deliver proposals & led the team to deliver successful projects. I was also responsible for the design & delivery of our training courses. Clients included: Red Bull, BBC Gardeners World, Chubb Safes, chumps Chupp, Spode, GKN Driveline, Birmingham Arts Marketing, The Drum, Birmingham Voluntary Services Council...In 1999 we sold the company to a client JBS. Although I was offered the role of MD of the new organisation I decided to take a leap of faith & focus on a career as a writer.
