Dr. Amy Wickstrom is a licensed Marital and Family Therapist with over a decade of experience in private practice. Her research and writing on play therapy is published in professional journals, clinical books, and magazines, and she speaks at local and nationwide conferences, churches, schools, and non-profit organizations on topics relating to parenting, child development, play, and child therapy. Dr. Wickstrom has taught graduate level mental health courses at colleges and universities in Southern California. She also served as the Social Welfare Director at Children of the Nations, a Christian non-profit organization, where she provided oversight to the mental health services provided to orphans in several African and Caribbean countries. Dr. Wickstrom was previously the "family expert" on KSON country radio station in San Diego, and has also been featured on NBC News. She has been married for twenty years and homeschools their five children.
