I am multi faceted in my work life, working full time at Internationally recognised establishment whilst also running my own business.In my 9-5, I currently manage the Central Services Unit at The Pirbright Institute encompassing 3 teams: Media Production, Glass wash & sterilisation and Cleaning, Laundry & Autoclave team. Producing various reagents, sterile consumables and glassware to fulfill all scientific requirements, maintaining high quality, reliability & traceability. We have the ability to manufacture specialized medias upon request for science, especially smaller scale batches. The department also maintains cleanliness & hygiene of CL2, CL3 and SAPO 4 facilities, administration areas and waste management. I engage with multiple levels across science to establish requirements, liaising with multiple grades within capability to ensure that we are enabled to give the continious support required for a world class facility. I manage a team of 10 staff encouraging and maintaining high output whilst also enabling the whole team to support cell culture, facilitating their production when required. This has helped enhance the skill sets and engagement throughout the whole team giving us all a wider working knowledge and ability to be multifunctional. I engage with outreach opportunities through the institute and am a registered STEM Ambassador. I am also an active member of the institute's social club. I am also an independent consultant with The Body Shop at Home. I run my own facet of TBSAH, Amy's Revitalising Emporium, and lead a team as an area manager. Empowering ladies and gents to spearhead there own partnership with a global B-Corp company. I have built my business over the past 3 years and enjoy seeing that grow day by day both with an active customer base and evolving team.Using my business as a force for good I champion raising awareness and actively fundraise for our partner charity Children on the Edge.
