About Amy Wright

I am and have been passionate about being a positive, enthusiastic force for progressive education and technology integration in education for nearly two decades. I have been recognized by Apple: was selected as Apple Distinguished Educator in 2004, and in 2009 assisted with writing 21st Century Learning Curriculum for Apple Professional Development. I have been recruited to schools for my expertise in working with school leadership teams to develop coherent technology plans, and for my skill in helping educators of all backgrounds to feel comfortable with the ways technology can further--not impede--their educational goals. I have led innovative IT departments at schools such as Ross Institute and The School at Columbia; as a consultant, my clients have included Oracle (US and APAC), Success Academies, San Francisco Friends School, Speyer Legacy School, Brown School, Quest2Learn, Mobento, and the Hawn Foundation. My own development as a professional educator who is interested not just in technology, but also creative problem solving and in social-emotional learning, has been informed by my work alongside and mentorship by individuals such as Donna Luther, Marc Meyer, David H. Rose, Katie Salen, Karen Cator, Howard Gardner, Antonio Damasio, Kimberly Schonert-Reichl, Kurt Fischer.
