This position involved delivery of the interior document package on the marque Inner Sydney High School $60 million dollar vertical campus for Schools Infrastructure of NSW. Stage one involved fitting a modern pedagogy into a heritage building with stage two a new eleven story multi-functional high rise. Being the project’s sole Interior Designer required teamwork, leadership and coordination on site to resolve the heritage building’s challenging aspects. I was tasked with detailing documentation in ArchiCAD, project schedules and solutions to meet the brief in line with the Educational Facilities Standards and Guidelines (EFSG). To provide the best outcome I resolved details, incorporated client needs, ensured all building standards were implemented, any guideline limitations were challenged whilst fostering a collaborative approach with builders, consultants, suppliers and the design team. This position also required mentoring of junior designers. I achieved this through clear direction, goal setting, providing constructive feedback and identifying opportunities for development. Bespoke solutions with a polished level of finish were achieved within demanding timeframes and budget constraints were met to the satisfaction of the client.
