Electricity is a dangerous business. Power needs to stay on for customer safety, and many precautions need to be taken to keep linemen safe as they work to fix problems with power lines, poles, and other devices. The goal of my team was to create tools to increase safety and prevent outages by providing tools to deliver the right information to the right people when they need it. We implemented .NET Core microservices and Angular front ends for flexibility and multi-system integration.

As the lead front end developer on my team, I leveraged my years of Angular experience to help design and implement our micro-front end architecture. I worked to accelerate future development efforts by building a custom component library. Constant communication with our distributed team was critical to the success of this project. Detailed technical documentation and training accompanied these projects to get less experienced team members up to speed.

Online security is more important now than it has every been. One of the easiest ways for hackers to gain access to private information is through compromised passwords. That's why we implemented new password requirements and check all new passwords with the Pwned Passwords API and a k-Anonymity model to prevent the use of unsafe passwords.In addition to password security features designed to protect over 30,000 students, faculty, and staff, we customized a personnel management application to make HR tasks faster and easier. And an Academic Agreements catalog using Angular and .NET to help match students with appropriate internships.

I designed and built a Cost Center change request Angular app to streamline the reporting update process, eliminating manual entry errors. I updated legacy applications to support CI/CD to enable Agile workflow. Mentorship was another key part of this role, and I enjoyed guiding student developers through their first "real" projects.

Staying on top of degree requirements is difficult for many students. We wanted to do as much as possible to help students stay on track to graduate in 4 years, so our team built a Degree Progress tool to show them exactly which requirements they had yet to complete. I added to this an online graduation application system that reduced reliance on paper and manual data entry. This made commencement registration and graduation audit process faster and easier for main campus, off-campus, and online students and advisors.On the support side, I maintained an online vehicle registration and citation notification system integrated with campus Parking Services' TickeTrak system. These systems allowed students to register for parking permits online and gave them digital warnings in case of lost or stolen parking citations.
