Responsible for the management and coordination of the NYCE program which aims to support newcomer youth (ages 13 - 24) as they transition to Canada through a variety of programs such as life skills workshops, team building activities and academic support.Responsible for supervising and training staff based on agency and ministry guidelines.Maintaining accurate statistics and monthly reports on participants' involvement for funding purposes.Acts as a liaison between program staff and SWIS workers to ensure efficient and appropriate referrals for newcomer youthResponsible for developing meaningful partnerships and collaborations with local businesses and agencies to meet the ever changing needs of our clients.Providing short-term counseling/support for clients in crisis and making appropriate external referrals when needed.Handling interpersonal and organizational conflicts with tact and in a calm manner.Ensuring a positive and safe environment for all clients, volunteers and staff who participate in the NYCE program.Identifying gaps where new programs are needed, writing and submitting grants for additional funding and managing youth program budget accordingly.

Responsible for supporting youth ages 13 - 18 living in East Mississauga with enhancing life and social skills while proving a safe and positive environment.Greeting families and youth as they enter the centre in a friendly and warm manner.Answering program inquiries, responding to e-mails and managing our program registrations.Conducting formal client intakes as per funding requirements.Responsible for the development and facilitation of daily programming and the upcoming events calendar.Provide referrals for external community resources for youth needing additional support.Developing workshops and presentations on a variety of social/life skills topics.Responsible for the supervision and coordination of volunteers and co-op students.Maintain accurate statistics and detailed records, including daily and monthly reports.

• Conduct and supervise visits for girls ages 12 – 17 with experience in the criminal justice system.• Assist in the planning and implementation of programmes and timetables.• Supervise and participate in the pre-planned afternoon and evening activities• Record and evaluate each youth’s development on an ongoing basis using Ministry of Children and Youth Services and residence’s developmental guidelines or other assessment tools as appropriate.• Prepare daily observations, progress reports and plan programmes in accordance with youth requirements. • Provide direct service to clients in accordance with the Ministry of Children and Youth Services and residential policy and procedure manuals. • Conduct formal intakes and counseling duties as girls arrive from court proceedings• Provide written documentation as it pertains to legal, case managerial, client progress and residential recording.

• Developed and facilitated the Footprints: Social Survival and Employment Program for thirteen youth ages 14 – 22 who have experienced a variety of barriers while looking for employment.• Coordinated multiple guest speakers and professionals to assist the youth during their job search• Responsible for daily administrative duties and maintaining the financial records for the program.• Conducted ongoing needs assessments and motivational counseling with youth.• Assisted clients with technical skills such as navigating the computers and the use of social media to further their job searches.• Actively sought out possible job and volunteer opportunities for program participants.

• Recruited and supervised 150 volunteers for the annual Refresh event for the Ardglen and Orenda communities in Brampton. • Volunteer management and delegation. • Effectively maintained records and prepared reports for the agency.• Informal counselling on a variety of topics to the residents from the Ardglen community.• Refer clients to appropriate social and community services in the Peel Region.• Demonstrated respect for diversity in culture and experiences when interacting with fellow staff members, volunteers and the clients we served.
