Leading Organizational Transformation for SustainabilityA growing awareness of humanity’s impact on the planet is transforming today’s workforce. Across industries, competition is rising for both technical and professional talent with sustainability aptitude. Until recently, corporate sustainability strategies were decided upon by a core group of senior leaders within an organization where decision-making was reserved for functional, operational, and executive-level “C-suite” leadership teams. Today’s global executive leaders recognize the need for their organizations to demonstrate a commitment to the United Nations’Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for drawing and retaining talent. Today’s organizational leaders are awakening to mindful employees at any level who evaluate their careers and organizational allegiance related to social and environmental commitment. The opportunity to impact change in the world provides excellent opportunities for professional talent to challenge organizations in enacting meaningful change in both culture and corporate strategy. As industry sectors waken to the challenges and opportunities of adopting and integrating sustainability systems, practices, and actions into their workflow, the potential for middle management and front-line employee engagement will expand. Aligning organizational sustainability journeys with employee engagement will empower all employees to “lead from wherever they sit.” Throughout this course, learners will investigate leadership tools, frameworks, organizational barriers, and approaches for cultivating a sustainable business culture around social and environmental responsibility. Students will then discover approaches for effective sustainability advocacy from any level or position within an organization.

The consultancy focuses on empowering individuals to bring mindful change to practice. Expertise in organizational change, gender inequity research, and global product development. Business and design consultation serving the fashion industry, music industry, and higher education.

Course content development for two learning modules: Fashion 101 and Making a Collection. Each module covers 12 weeks of content. 30 videos were scripted and delivered for asynchronous learning.

As the CCA Fashion Design Program Chair, it was my privilege to foster leadership, incubate imagination, applaud innovative thought, and encourage rich creative growth from the students and faculty team. Today's design students are tomorrow's industry leaders. Our team believed strongly that it was our responsibility to train tomorrow's designers to consider carefully the methods, materials, and peoples that will be helping to bring their creations to market. By offering education that implores them to question and investigate as they build towards their future practices we are encouraging fresh action for better industry practices from design to production. In 2013, CCA Fashion Design gained acclaim as a top fashion program in the world because of our sustainable fashion education curriculum. The CCA fashion program began in 1997 over the past decade, has risen in national and international acknowledgment of our focused education, noted for the rigor of training, quality of alumni, and success in the field, recently being voted in the top 30 fashion programs worldwide - top 4 in the nation! In July of 2016, our hard work in the studios had us recognized by Business of Fashion in the top 50 Fashion programs in the World!The mix of traditional skill-building and best new practice methodology in our coursework creates deep thinking fashion designers. CCA alumni are finding real success in the field as design leaders and new entrepreneurs all over the world - from the Bay Area to New York, Los Angeles, and Portland to far away from design studios in Rwanda, Seoul, London, and Stockholm too.Each year, our annual tented capstone exhibition fashion show has shared the senior level thesis collections with an enthusiastic crowd. The excitement felt by the students as they watched their work on the runway might have just eclipsed my pride in each graduate as I witnessed them transform from student to emergent professional!
