As a breast cancer survivor, I understand the devastation the disease can have on families. Bringing Hope Home is a non-profit organization that helps these families. Since its inception in 2008, they have supported over 4,517 local families and have raised more than $5.5 million in assistance. Reporting to the CEO of Bringing Hope Home, my first order of business was to develop standard procedures that allowed them to operate as a business. I also managed their day-to-day financial operations until fulfilling my mandate, which included identifying areas of improvement in the financial system, and implementing measures that brought the organization to financial stability.

After 2.5 years at AmerisourceBergen, I was promoted into the position of Manager, IT, Finance and Compliance and reported to the Vice President, PMO. In this role, I managed the financial aspects of the IT department, and was trusted to run a $100 million budget. My department also tracked vendor efficiencies, and controlled budgeting and forecasting. Two government acts drove many of the department’s business practices: The Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA), which ensures the privacy and security provisions for safeguarding medical records and other identifiable health information; and the Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Act, which ensures shareholders and the general public are protected from error and fraud relating to the accuracy of corporate disclosures.As the company’s HIPAA security officer and SOX Manager, I was responsible for ensuring strict observance of these acts. Drawing on my extensive background in IT, I guided my team to develop compliance processes and audit testing mechanisms, and also established testing and compliance procedures for the 24/7 offside data storage facility and encrypted backup system that was free of vulnerability. In addition, I developed a corporate-wide training program for HIPAA to ensure all employees understood the importance of compliance.

AmerisourceBergen Corporation is a Fortune 500 wholesale drug company that distributes pharmaceuticals and other health care products throughout the United States. The organization sells and supplies approximately 20% of the country’s pharmaceuticals, exceeding $100 billion in annual revenues.As the Program Management Officer, I reported to the Director, PMO (Program Management Organization). In this role, I was responsible for institutionalizing strong project management skills throughout the company, and for facilitating large, cross-functional undertakings.Notable Accomplishments Include:★ Developing project management training for the IT department including requirement definitions, scope analysis, resource planning and budgeting.★ Identifying detailed testing necessary for major customer interfaces and internal software applications.

IKON Office Solutions hired me to the position of Director, HR Financial Systems due to my education and background in finance, project management and computer science.Directing a 17-person department, I was responsible for the daily IT support of the company’s HR and Financial Applications, including Oracle 11i HR and financial modules, and ADP. I successfully implemented a number of ERP systems, and was involved in the repair of coding programs related to Y2K, a date-based global bug that some believed was the end of the world. Notable Accomplishments Include: ✪ Generating cost saving measures by implementing technology related to recruitment, hiring and onboarding that replaced the manual and time-consuming work of 40 people.✪ Managing the implementation of the financial applications and the integration with the other modules of Oracle, an ERP application tool that replaced the company’s ineffective homegrown software.
