I have been in the helping field for 22 years paving my journey with lots of learning, self evaluation and consistent and continuous goal setting. Teaching led me directly on a path to mental health. Struggling to find the key to building relationships in a challenging environment I chose to enroll in a master's program in counseling at the University of North Texas. This experience taught me to see behavior from a different perspective, not as a detriment but as a means to express the seemingly unexpressable. After ten years in the classroom I spent the next 7 years becoming a mental health professional while working as a school counselor. My journey has led me through the stories of many, many children and adults struggling to connect their experiences to their reactions and finding a way to pull their pieces together in a way that helps them become exactly who they want to be. Today I run a therapy practice with two other amazing women who share a vision to help those that struggle. Together we continue to define what Spirit Therapy Services means to us and how we want our practice to bring light to others. As mentioned above goals are an important part of my success up to this point. I continue to educate myself through professional development, collaboration with others and supervision and consultation with leaders in this field. I'm learning that fear should not hold me back from following my path and taking risks.
